Master of Social Work Intern
Clients Served: Ages (10+)
Specialties: Pre-teens, Teens, Immigrants, and Women's Issues
Hi, I’m Stephanie! I am a Student Intern pursuing my Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I serve clients virtually in Texas, Tennessee, and Mississippi. I chose to become a social worker because I saw the various ways in which I can help people with their mental health challenges on a smaller scale through individual work and on a larger scale through policy and advocacy. By day, I work full time at a local school helping students and families eliminate barriers to academic success. I am bilingual and enjoy serving the Spanish speaking community.
I am most passionate about helping teens and pre-teens manage their stress by teaching healthy emotional regulation and coping skills for them to use they are at their wits end with balancing school, being a good friend, and the ongoing growing pains of getting older. I love helping women navigate challenges that are unique to the experience of being a woman including being a mom.
My favorite part about treating clients is seeing their progress and growth. It is very rewarding being able to see individuals transform into a different version of themselves and overcome obstacles.
As my client, you can expect me to take a strengths’-based, empowerment approach to teach you tangible skills where you will feel confident enough after each session to tackle the week ahead.
When I am not working with students or counseling clients, you can find me spending time with my one-year-old daughter, walking outside in nature, cooking, and shopping on Amazon!
