Hi, I’m Melanie, a Licensed Master Social Worker serving clients in Texas. Growing up, I noticed a tremendous need for healers in my community. We needed someone who understood what it was like to be a woman of color and could use that experience to help others break generational curses to become their best selves. This continues to fuel my passion for seeing clients to this day.
I obtained both my bachelor’s degree and my master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. My clinical experience ranges from adults with severe mental health diagnoses to school-age children. I currently see teens, young adults, and adults, primarily those of color, to help them work through issues related to childhood trauma, relationships, or lifestyle. I am currently under the clinical supervision of Kayla Lawrence, LCSW-S #56431.
For me, the most meaningful part of therapy is watching my clients find their inner voices and learn to speak from an authentic and empowered place, ready to face the world’s challenges. I am honored to give my clients the space they need to be open, honest, and curious about themselves in order to grow.
Together, we will work together to highlight your strengths and use them to problem-solve. When we approach problems from a strengths-based and problem-solving stance, we can break any issue into much smaller, more easily conquerable pieces.
When I’m not seeing clients, I enjoy spending time with my two children, being an involved football mom, and binge-watching TV.
