Dr. Nancy Keys, LMSW

Hi, I’m Nancy! I am a Licensed Master Social Worker serving clients in Mississippi. My journey to becoming a therapist began long before receiving the letters behind my name. My journey began with suffering in silence until I began meeting with a school counselor who changed my entire perspective on healing. Witnessing the transformative work she did, I felt drawn to follow in her footsteps.

 

Obtaining my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi prepared and instilled in me the knowledge I needed to become a therapist. The skills needed to guide people along their journey to healing was enhanced during my Doctor of Professional Counseling program from Mississippi College.

 

My favorite part about treating clients is empowering them to pick up the pieces and put them back together. Witnessing the darkness in my clients slowly fading and transitioning into a glow of understanding and self-acceptance during this journey brings me much joy.

 

As my client, you can expect me to hold a safe and calm space for you to take off the mask and pour out your heart, and walk away with the tools needed to process and heal from broken and lost relationships, traumatic experiences, and re-establishing connections within your relationships with others.

 

My therapeutic modalities include Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and therapy utilizing music.

 

When I am not being a therapist, I love spending time with my son and family. I enjoy watching my baby witness things I have never experienced. I am an active member of my church and involved with the youth ministry. When not working, you can also find me singing, cooking, hanging with family and friends, and watching all of my favorite shows.
