Service Description

Honeybee Wellness and Consulting is proud to present “Pathways to Healing: Serving Human Trafficking Survivors in a Residential Setting,” a powerful, trauma-informed training led by Gabi Keele, LMSW, Safe House Program Director with the Poiema Foundation. This live, virtual event will take place on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 7:00 PM CST via Zoom and is open to helping professionals, advocates, and community members who want to deepen their understanding of human trafficking and the healing journey of survivors in residential care. Participants will gain insight into the complex dynamics of human trafficking and learn practical strategies for supporting survivors in a way that is compassionate, ethical, and trauma-conscious. Gabi brings years of direct experience in residential programming and survivor care, making this training both informative and deeply personal. Whether you're a clinician, case manager, advocate, or student, this training offers tools you can immediately apply to your work. Attendees will earn 1 General CEU for participating. Registration is $20, and 50% of all proceeds will benefit the Poiema Foundation, helping them continue their critical work in survivor restoration and empowerment. Please note: This training does not meet the Texas Occupational Code requirement for Human Trafficking CEUs. Attendees should seek out an approved platform for that specific certification. By the end of this training, participants will be able to: -Understand a brief overview of human trafficking, including common risk factors, grooming behaviors, and potential warning signs. -Apply the Stages of Change model to better assess and support survivors at various points in their healing journey. -Explore aftercare and residential programming options available to survivors who are ready to engage in healing. -Identify barriers to treatment, including common diagnoses, trauma responses, and challenges survivors may face in structured care environments. -Gain familiarity with strength-based approaches and motivational interviewing strategies used to foster trust, empowerment, and sustainable recovery. -Join us for this impactful evening of education, awareness, and advocacy — and be part of the healing pathway for survivors.
